Sydney Airport Pick up and Information
Your pick up options will be a little different, depending on whether you are flying from the domestic or international airport.
The international terminal of Sydney airport has express pick up areas, which are marked with yellow signage. This is located in the P9 car park at the T1 terminal. Here, there is 15 minutes of free standing available. For drop offs in the international terminal, you will have to go to the departure level at the T1 terminal. Here, standing is only available for one minute or so, because congestion can be an issue. Disability spaces are clearly marked as well, for those who require them.
For drop offs at the Sydney domestic airport, you will need to go to the departures level at either domestic terminal. Once again, standing here is only available for one minute or so, as there can be relatively heavy traffic. When it comes to pick ups from the domestic terminal, you have three options:
Priority Pick Up – This is a 4-minute walk from the domestic terminals and is the most convenient option. Here, charges begin at $4, which is quite reasonable – although e-Tags are the only method of payment available. Passengers will simply need to follow the green signage to get to priority pick up from arrivals. Similarly, drivers need to follow green signage upon arriving at the airport precinct.
Express Pick Up – This is an 8-minute walk from the domestic terminals. Passengers will need to follow the yellow signage, as will drivers when they arrive in the airport precinct. For drivers, these signs will direct you into the right lane of the domestic precinct.
Blue Emu Pick Up – This is a 10-minute ride from the domestic terminals, aboard the ‘Blue Emu’ bus. To find this bus, simply look for the Blue Emu bus stop outside the domestic terminals. This bus service leaves every 10-15 minutes. Drivers approaching from the M5 will need to look for the Blue Emu carp park sign, which will be on their left. Alternatively, you can get in via Ross Smith Avenue.
In addition to these options, you will have access to pick up zones on the arrivals level outside T2 and T3. However, security requirements mean that you cannot leave your car when in these areas.
