Kings Cross would have to be Australia’s most recognisable nightlife destinations. Packed with restaurants, bars and nightclubs, it attracts tourists and locals alike, in large numbers. Such is the allure of Kings Cross that many travellers place it at the top of their Sydney destinations. Kings Cross is directly adjacent to the Sydney CBD. So there will be plenty to see on your journey. To give you a good idea of what to expect, we have a few handy details listed below.
Travel times: every well organised itinerary is built on them. So what travel times can you expect from Sydney airport to Kings Cross? Generally, the trip takes about 25 minutes. But, of course, traffic will have something to say about that at certain times of the day.
Sydney airport is brilliantly well-organised and comprised of three different terminals. However, chances are you won’t want to stick around for too long when you arrive. So where do you go to be collected? There are actually several options, but some are more convenient than others. If you are arriving in the international terminal, we advise going to the express pick up in the P9 car park. It has a free waiting period for drivers of around fifteen minutes. If you’re arriving in the domestic terminals, then you can choose from priority pick up, express pick up, and blue emu pick up. The first two are the closest, and you can find them by following the signs. Blue-Emu is a little further, but it’s serviced by a frequent shuttle bus.
If you’re departing through the international or domestic terminals, the process is pretty much the same. Simply follow the signs onto the departures road, and you will find abundant kerbside drop off spaces. But be ready! These spaces are restricted to a minute or two, in terms of how long vehicles can wait.
Kings Cross is a hive of activity, and it is set up very well for pedestrians. That means you can explore it at your own pace. It’s also a short distance from the city – about 2km to be precise. You can make up that distance by catching a train from the famous Kings Cross train station, or even on foot. Or, better still, you can get a lift with Hughes. We can collect you from anywhere around Kings Cross, and we can drop you off anywhere too.
