East Perth

East Perth is an inner-city suburb located next to the CBD. It was formerly a highly industrial area but has since gone through a redevelopment strongly influenced by the new urbanism movement.

Because the suburb is so close to the city, there’s plenty to do. You can check out the old Perth Mint, where Australian currency used to be forged. You can take a wander through the beautiful Queens Gardens, with its famous statue of Peter Pan, or catch sight of some cricket at the Western Australian Cricket Ground.
