Travel times for your journey

Albany is over 400 kms away from Perth airport which means you can expect a slightly longer journey. It will normally take around four and a half hours to get from the airport to Albany and vice-versa.

Perth airport terminals

Perth airport is an international airport and has 4 main terminals:

  • Terminal 1 – This is the main international terminal and is divided into different levels – Ground (arrival & departures hall), Level 1 (information and immigration), Level 2 (airline lounges for Emirates, Qantas & Singapore airlines) and Level 3 (restrooms).
  • Terminal 2 – This is largely a regional flight terminal with Vigiain, REX and Alliance Air all operating regional flights out of this terminal.
  • Terminal 3 & 4 – Qantas use this terminal for their international, interstate and regional flights. Jetstar also uses these terminals for their interstate and regional flights.

Perth airport parking options

Perth airport offers convenient and secure parking facilities for all budgets and timeframes. These are:

  • Long Term parking – This is available at all 4 terminals and is the ideal option for longer time periods. The long term car park is secure and you can book online for upto 65% discounted rates.
  • Short Term Parking – For shorter time periods, this is your ideal parking option. It is located right outside the terminal and is a secured car park as well.
  • Fast Track Business Parking – This is a premium parking option with 230 covered parking bays available at terminals 3 & 4. It is a 1-minute walk to the terminals.
  • Regional Terminal Parking – For anyone travelling with airlines such as Cobham, Maroomba, Skippers and Network.

Perth airport – other information

The airport has excellent pickup and drop off facilities. The long term car park offers a ‘free 1-hour park & wait’ as well as a $10 for 4 hours cheap parking option. Express pick up & drop off is offered at Terminals 1 & 2, which gives you 5 minutes to pick up or drop off your passengers.

There is free Wi-Fi all over the airport (including public areas & lounges). For passengers, the airport also offers excellent facilities while in transit. There are multiple airline lounges (Singapore, Qantas, Emirates), sleeping pods (terminal 1 only), toilets & showers, postal services duty free shopping, cafes & restaurants as well as a special children’s play area.

 

Exploring Albany

Albany is a port side city and the oldest colonial settlement in Western Australia. It is surrounded by the stunning Princess Royal Harbour and King George Sound. It has a historic whaling station which is now a heritage educational tourist site. Albany also offers stunning beaches including Middleton Beach and Ellen Cove.

You can also visit the historic National Anzac Centre in this area to learn about Australia’s war history. In addition, Albany also has a number of heritage buildings including St John’s Church (1841) and the Old Farm (1826). Albany also offers world-class wines, excellent food, farmers markets and a host of adventure activities for tourists.
