Journey: Melbourne Airport to Point Cook

Melbourne Airport sits in the well known suburb of Tullamarine, some 23 kilometres north west of the Melbourne CBD. That places it about 25km north northeast of Point Cook. You can catch buses, trains, or taxis from one destination to the other, but if you’re in a hurry, or if you just prioritise comfort and value, then a Hughes transfer will be a preferable option. We offer door to door services, which means no walking from bus stops to train stations with heavy bags in tow. Simply jump in to one of our chauffeur driven premium or luxury vehicles on arrival at Melbourne Airport, and jump off on the doorstep of your Point Cook destination. Our drivers are locals and professionals, with all the experience needed to get you to your destination via the quickest and most direct route possible, so you can rest assured that Hughes’ transport is the highest standard in transport available.

Getting to Point Cook and back

Getting from Point Cook to Melbourne Airport and vice versa takes an average of forty minutes, but that can vary depending on the prevailing conditions. Peak hour, road works, and Melbourne’s unpredictable weather can all contribute to traffic congestion, and that can lead to minor delays in your travel. Usually, it takes no longer than 45 minutes to get from Melbourne Airport to Point Cook, but when the conditions work in your favour it can take as few as 35 minutes. The trip does take you through inner-city Melbourne, though, so we would recommend avoiding the peak hour periods if you’re in a rush to get to Point Cook.

Melbourne Airport

Melbourne Airport has four separate terminals that serve different carriers and services. There are terminals dedicated to budget domestic flights, international flights, and individual carriers, so it’s important to make sure that you have the right terminal before you leave. If you travel with us, simply include your flight details in your online booking, and we will make sure that you’re dropped off at, and collected from the correct terminal at the right time. If you find yourself with some time to kill before your flight out of Melbourne Airport, we would recommend making the most of its excellent facilities, which include transit facilities, Wi-Fi, dining options, and an abundance of world class shopping.

Point Cook

Point Cook lies about 22 kilometres south west of the Melbourne city centre, and it’s easy to access from Melbourne Airport. It’s best known as the birthplace of the Royal Australian Air Force, and now houses an Air Force museum dedicate to the rich and enduring history of Australia’s aerial defence force. Of course, today it has plenty more on offer, too. You can enjoy the coastal suburb’s many cafes, restaurants, and bars, which number of fifty and span several different cuisines. If natural beauty is more your speed, why not head down to Point Cook Coastal Park and enjoy the meeting of Point Cook’s eminent green space, with the vast blue space of the Tasman Sea. Whichever option appeals to you most, we can help. Simply book with Hughes and enjoy door to door service in and around the Point Cook area – whenever you need it.
