Journey: Melbourne Airport to Parkville

Parkville is a central suburb just to the north of the Melbourne CBD, which places it a little over seventeen kilometres away from Melbourne Airport. Of course, there’s no shortage of transport from Melbourne Airport into the city centre, and plenty of those services will also get you to Parkville. However, none of them offer the reliability, efficiency, and value for money of a Hughes transfer. Most noticeably, though: none of them offer the comfort that comes with a chauffeur driven luxury car. At Hughes, we offer a fleet of premium and luxury vehicles for you to choose from, and our drivers maintain each vehicle to the highest standard. That means comfort and style are a given with Hughes transfers, just as door to door twenty four hour service is!

Travel Times

First, let’s look at travel times. They vary significantly in Melbourne’s inner north, on account of the peak hour rushes on business mornings and evenings. As countless commuters flood the streets, congestion can build around the Melbourne CBD, and you can easily find yourself experiencing a minor delay. Usually, even in peak hour, you can get from Melbourne Airport to Parkville in less than 30 minutes. However, there may be some occasions where a traffic accident or roadworks get in the way. That’s not often, though, and you can normally enjoy travel times of 20-25 minutes from Parkville to Melbourne Airport and vice versa.

Melbourne Airport

With four terminals dedicated each to a unique service, it is little wonder that Melbourne Airport has gained a reputation as one of Australia’s largest and most busy. But thanks to some clever planning, the airport accommodates its thousands of daily passengers exceptionally well. Part of that comes down to the many pick up and drop off spaces within close proximity to the terminals. Those options keep car and foot traffic flowing freely in and out of the airport, and ensure that there are no unnecessary delays. Terminals 1-3 all have parking within 100m, which means that travellers are never far from their car. Thanks to kerbside collection spaces, there’s even close to their lifts. Terminal four has its own parking options, which are also about 100m away and serve a similar purpose. Luckily, you won’t need to walk that far if you book with Hughes. Our drivers can collect from dedicated spaces adjacent to the terminal – all you need to do is navigate the arrivals hall!

Parkville

Because it’s so close to the action, Parkville has a diverse spread of inhabitants from all walks of life. That diversity has bred an excellent cultural scene, with no shortage of restaurants, bars, and Melbourne’s famous cafes only a stone’s throw from the centre of Parkville. It’s largest drawcard, though, are the numerous educational institutions that have established themselves there. Beginning with the University of Melbourne, which was built in 1853, Parkville has since housed campuses for Monash University and University High School, which are among Australia’s leading educational institutions. To navigate them all, and see just what Parkville has to offer, book with Hughes. We can take you anywhere in and around Parkville, to ensure that your trip is a comfortable and easy as possible.
