Journey: Melbourne Airport to Berwick

Melbourne Airport consists of four terminal in the outer suburb of Mascot, about 23km to the north west of the city centre. That places it about 70km away from Berwick. So what’s the best choice of transport to get from one destination to the other? You could use public transport, which includes a combination of buses, trams, and trains. However, that’s likely to take quite a while, given that each service will stop frequently, and there will be conflicting schedules to contend with.

You could try taxis instead, but that is likely to leave you a lot of money out of pocket, considering that taxis charge using metres and they can become quite expensive over long distances. To complicate matters, you also need to wait for them in the airport taxi rank. Alternatively, you could choose a direct transfer from Melbourne Airport to your destination in Berwick. That’s what Hughes offers, with door to door service around the clock. Better still, our prices are on par with or better than most alternatives.

Travel times

Travel times from Melbourne Airport to Berwick average seventy minutes, but they depend heavily on the conditions. Because Melbourne Airport is to the north west, and Berwick the south east, of the City Centre, your travels will take through inner-city Melbourne. That means traffic could place a big part in your travel times, and if Melbourne is known for one thing it’s unpredictability. Traffic conditions could be quite congested if you travel during peak periods, and that may mean travel times of around 75 minutes. However, if you leave outside of peak hour then you’re more likely to enjoy a journey of 65-70 minutes from Melbourne Airport to Berwick and vice versa.

Getting around Melbourne Airport

Melbourne Airport has four separate terminals, which each serve a different purpose. That means that you need to check your flight details carefully to ensure that you travel to the right terminal. Fortunately, that is something we can help you with. Our drivers are experienced when it comes to getting around Melbourne Airport, and we will be able to ensure that you get to the right terminal. The first terminal dedicates itself to Qantas services travelling regionally and domestically. The second is the international terminal, with two levels, twenty gates, and the capacity to accommodate up to an A380 plane. Terminal three is from where Virgin and REX services depart, and terminal four hosts a combination of budget domestic carriers. All terminals have world-class facilities to keep you busy while you wait for your flight, and those services include retail, food, and entertainment.

Berwick

Like many of Melbourne’s suburbs, Berwick has deep historical roots that extend deep into Australia’s history. The Berwick Inn, for example, was constructed in 1857 and stands today as a testament to the history that remains in the region. Of course, a lot has changed since then with modern influence taking hold of every corner of Berwick in the best possible way.

Without overpowering the area’s history, Berwick has developed into a comfortable centre for restaurants, bars, cafes, and even a variety of artistic pursuits.  Needless to say, there’s lots to see and the best way to see it is with reliable transport. We can take you anywhere in and around Berwick, at any time of the day or night. Simply let us know where you want to go and when, and allow our professional chauffeurs to take care of the rest.
