The worst thing after a long flight is a delay in getting to your airport transfer and not knowing how long your journey will take. Tips to navigate Gold Coast Airport

Gold Coast airport is an international airport and has 1 major passenger terminal where all domestic & international flights operate from. Most major airlines including Qantas, Virgin Australia, Air New Zealand and Jetstar operate out of this terminal. The airport also has 2 airline lounges for you to relax in, operated by Virgin Australia and Qantas.

There are also plenty of parking options at the airport with 4 car parks and over 2000 parking spaces:

  • Premium Covered parking – This is the closest to the terminal and is fully covered including access to disabled parking spaces
  • Short Term Parking – This caters to anyone parking for a period less than 8 hours and is charged hourly. It also has disabled parking spaces and cash/credit card payments can be made at the payment stations.
  • Long Term Parking – Anyone wishing to park for an extended period can utilise this parking option. There are discounted rates if you book online and it is only a 1-2 minute walk from the terminal.

The pickup and drop off area is located at the front of the terminal and there are clear signs to help you navigate once you enter the airport precinct. There is no park & wait option in this area and it is meant for picking up and dropping off passengers only.

There is also a range of shopping and dining facilities at Gold Coast airport including cafes, restaurants, retails shops as well as a pharmacy. There is also a tax & duty free store located in the International Departures and International Arrivals area of the airport. You also have access to Free WiFi throughout the terminal.

Getting around Varsity Lakes

Varsity Lakes is a fairly new suburb and was formed in 2002, with a population of around 14,000 people. The suburb has a range of excellent educational facilities including a high school as well as a number of colleges. Varsity Lakes also has a good selection of retail stores including Market Square & Christine Corner. The suburb also provides it’s residents with a range of community sporting facilities for basketball, tennis and grass ovals.
