Movie World is a famous theme park on the Gold Coast which is approximately 40 km north of Gold Coast airport. It is a very popular destination on the Gold Coast and thousands of people visit this theme park each week. But how exactly would one get from Gold Coast airport to Movie World?

Journey travel times from Movie Work to Gold Coast airport and vice versa

On average this journey would take around 35-40 minutes in a Hughes airport transfer. However this time can vary depending on when you are travelling. During peak hours the journey can take around 40-50 minutes and during times of less traffic the same journey takes only around 30-35 minutes.

Gold Coast Airport – important information

Gold Coast airport is an international airport – however there is only 1 main terminal which accounts for both domestic and international passengers. Qantas, Virgin Australia, Air New Zealand and Jetstar are some of the airlines operating from this airport. It is a fairly busy airport and approximately 6 million passengers go through the airport each year.

There are plenty of parking options at the airport with a total of 4 car parks and over 2000 parking spaces. The closest is the ‘Premium Covered Parking’ which is only 30 seconds from the terminal and also has a number of disabled parking spaces. If you are looking to park under 8 hours, Short Term Parking is your best bet. For longer periods, the ‘Long Term Terminal Parking is the best option and this can be hooked only at a discounted rate.

Pick Up & Drop Off areas are conveniently located at the front of the main terminal. There is no ‘park & wait’ option in this area and passengers must be at the kerb waiting for immediate pick up.

The airport also has a number of cafes, restaurants as well as retail shopping and a pharmacy. The international departures/arrival areas have a tax & duty free shopping area. Free WiFi is available throughout the terminal building.

Movie World – An amazing place to visit

Movie World is the oldest movie theme park in the world and is run by the Village Roadshows Theme Park division. It is Australia’s only film-related theme park and the oldest Warner Bros. park worldwide. The park has a number of attractions for the whole family including thrill rides like the Batwing Spaceshot and Superman Escape. It also includes entertainment at the Roxy theatre and the Hollywood Stunt Driver live show. It also hosts Fight Night an White Christmas events annually.
