Getting from Coomera to Gold Coast Airport

The trip from Gold Coast Airport to Coomera takes about 45 minutes by car, or 55 minutes during rush hour. Driving is by far the quickest option—you can take public transport, but you’ll need to change three times or more, and expect to be travelling for up to two hours.

Gold Coast Airport terminals

Gold Coast Airport is a small facility with just a single terminal. But despite its size, it still operates plenty of international and domestic flights, and is home to Qantas, Virgin Australia, Jetstar, Air New Zealand, Scoot, and AirAsia X.

Gold Coast Airport parking and pick-up

Gold Coast Airport has tons of parking spaces, and three car parks to choose from.

There’s the Premium Covered Parking car park, which is directly next to the terminal and just a 30-second walk between the two. This park is best for short stays by the hour, and ideal if you’re wanting to meet someone at the arrivals gate. The other quick parking option is the airport’s Short Term Terminal Parking, which is cheaper than the premium park, and only a slightly longer walk to the airport terminal. Finally, if you’re planning on parking at the airport for a day or longer, your best bet is the Long Term Terminal Parking car park, which is a two-minute walk to the terminal.

Gold Coast Airport facilities

Gold Coast Airport is a tidy little facility that straddles the southern edge of the Queensland border, just north of New South Wales’ Tweed Heads. It has all of the facilities you’d expect from a modern Aussie airport—bars, cafes, restaurants, and services like currency exchange.

There’s also plenty of nearby hotels, including La Costa Motel, Rydges, and the Gold Coast Airport Motel, which are less than a kilometre away.

Coomera

Coomera is a residential northern Gold Coast suburb of around 13,000 people. It’s easily accessible from the Pacific Highway, and is home to one of Australia’s most famous theme parks: Dreamworld. If you fancy watching some local sport, you can catch the rugby league Coomera Cutters at the Coomera Sports Park, or watch some Aussie rules football by the Coomera Magpies, who are based at the Coomera Colts Soccer Club.
