Journey: Cairns Airport to Mossman

Cairns Airport is located in the suburb of Aeroglen on the east coast of Northern Queensland and is Australia’s seventh busiest airport. Mossman is a small rural town in the municipality of the Douglas Shire and has a sparse population of around 1,940 residents. The distance between Cairns Airport and Mossman is approximately 75.6 kilometres with an average journey time of around 1 hour and 7 minutes by car. There are a few other transportation options available including a shuttle and bus services. These options however will see your journey time increase to around 2 hours and 43 minutes.

Travel Times

Mossman is relatively quiet and traffic in and out of the township itself is minimal, however, some traffic delays may be incurred around Cairns Airport during tourist season and peak times. During peak travel times, your journey can take up to 1 hour and 20 minutes and during favourable conditions, the same journey will be around 1 hour and 3 minutes. Exploring Cairns Airport

Cairns Airport has two passenger terminals and one single runway with a length of 3156 meters. Flight paths out of Cairns will either offer views of the stunning northern beaches region to the north or the lush rainforest and foliage surrounding central Cairns on the flight path to the south. Cairns Airport is small and easy to navigate but also sufficiently equipped. Both passenger terminals are close by with only a 200-meter walk between them and both offer an array of modern amenities, shopping and food and beverage options.

There are three onsite parking options available including the T1 budget carpark and T2 uncovered carpark each offering up to 10 minutes of free parking. The T2 covered car park is the closest to the terminals and offers premium shaded parking with wider car spaces. If you are being dropped off at Cairns Airport, you will be deposited at the designated express zones, located directly in front of each terminal and a short walk to the entrance.
