Journey: Brisbane Airport to West End

Brisbane Airport is Queensland’s busiest domestic and international airport, with thousands of passengers passing through each day. Many are heading into the heart of Brisbane, where you can find dining, entertainment, and retail opportunities of an international standard. But when it comes to cultural hubs within Brisbane, it’s hard to go past West End. West End has a strong history and much of that shines through today in its culture. If you want to get there from Brisbane Airport, you can choose from trains, buses, shuttles, and taxis. However, none will offer service as good as Hughes. At Hughes we centre our transport solutions on efficiency, convenience, comfort, and value, which is why we maintain a door to door service policy, and twenty four hour services. When you book with us, you get the comfort of knowing that your transport will be waiting for you at Brisbane Airport when you arrive, and there in West End when you need to depart again.

Travelling through Brisbane

West End is an inner city suburb, which means your journey there will take you along some of the busiest roads in Queensland. Fortunately, our drivers are experienced professionals with a detailed knowledge of local traffic conditions. They will make sure that your trip follows the most direct route possible. Generally, we expect a trip of about 20-25 minutes. However, when the city is hitting peak hour and the commuters take to the streets, the trip can be a little slower at around 28 minutes. On the other hand, if you’re on an international flight that arrives late at night you’re unlikely to encounter much traffic. That means your trip will be a bit shorter, usually, at around 18-22 minutes.

Brisbane Airport

Brisbane Airport is exceptionally easy to navigate, with plenty of signs and an efficient pick up and drop off system at both its international and domestic terminal. At the domestic terminal, it’s just a matter of following the signs to the kerbside spaces, with act as both drop off and pick up points. At the international terminal, the set up is similar, but the arrivals and departures spaces are spread across two separate levels. When you book with Hughes, you won’t need to worry about the logistics of your trip. Simply provide us with the details of your flight, and we will ensure that you are collected promptly upon your arrivals, and drop off safely at the most convenient space when the time comes for your departure.

West End

West End is a cultural hub of inner city Brisbane, with strong working class and Greek cultural roots. That shows through today in the form of traditional Queensland architecture, revamped workers’ cottages, restored pubs, and the annual Greek Paniyiri Festival, which offers some of the best Greek food and culture in the country. West End occupies a gentle bend of the Brisbane River and maintains an eclectic mix of residential and commercial buildings, which adds to its interesting dynamic. It is one of Brisbane’s nightlife centres, too, with plenty of bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues on offer. If you want to enjoy West End and its surrounds, you can book further transport with Hughes.  We are happy to collect you from or take you to any part of West End or the surrounding area.
