Journey: Brisbane Airport to Nambour

Brisbane Airport is about 100km south of Nambour, so passengers travelling between the two destinations have some ground to cover. There are plenty of transport facilities at the Brisbane Airport, including taxis, trains, and buses. However, those options aren’t exactly the most suitable for long distance travel to Nambour. Over that distance, taxis are simply too expensive for most people, due to their metered approach to charging.

Buses are far cheaper, but they can take a long time to cover such distances. Trains have a similar problem, given that they need to stop frequently. If you catch public transport from Brisbane Airport to Nambour, you will also need to switch services – sometimes more than once. That means more time spent waiting in transit, and even walking from bus stops to train stations at times. That’s why we would recommend a private transfer from Hughes. We will take you directly to your destination in Nambour via the quickest and most direct route possible

The journey

Because you’ve got about 100km to cover in your trip from Brisbane Airport to Nambour, it takes about 80 minutes on average. Of course, that depends on the traffic. When it’s peak season, or peak hour, the traffic along the Bruce Highway can become congested. When it does, the trip from Brisbane Airport to Nambour can be a little slower. But thanks to recent highway upgrades, the trip is often quicker than 80 minutes when traffic or roadworks are not an issue. Regardless of the conditions, though, you can rest assured that your chauffeur will deliver the quickest possible journey from Brisbane Airport to Nambour.

Brisbane airport: arrivals and departures

Brisbane Airport is split into two terminals: domestic and international. The international terminal is then split into two levels: arrivals and departures. If you travel with Hughes, all you need to do is give us details of your flight, and we will ensure that you are dropped off, or collected from the right terminal, and the right level. At the domestic terminal it’s a little easier. There is one kerbside collect/drop off space that caters for both arriving and departing passengers. It’s situated directly beside the terminal, and it’s only a short walk from both the arrivals and the departures halls. If you’re driving from Nambour to Brisbane Airport yourself, there is short term and long term parking available in close proximity to both terminals. There is also accommodation within the Brisbane Airport precinct, along with a nearby DFO where you can fulfil any shopping needs you have before you depart.

Nambour

Nambour is located in the gateway of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, which means that its natural beauty is abundant and easily accessible. But there’s also a lot of history in the region. Nambour houses the heritage listed Moreton Central Sugar Mill, the Cane Tramway, and the Moreton Central Sugar Mills Workers’ Housing. Those building hark back to the days of sugar processing in the Nambour and Sunshine Coast region, and carry on the area’s strong legacy. For those with more modern inclinations, there’s the Nambour Civic Centre, which is the local arts and entertainment venue, and which hosts cinema, music, theatre, and other artistic ventures. There is also the Nambour Festival, which showcases the region’s strong musical talent, and offers stalls with local crafts and produce. Given the size of the area, it’s impossible to see it all without reliable transport. So book with Hughes – we can take you anywhere in and around Nambour.
