Journey: Brisbane Airport to Hamilton

Brisbane Airport sits just to the northeast of the city centre, which places it in close proximity to Hamilton. There are many options at your disposal if you need to get from Brisbane Airport to Hamilton, too. You can catch a bus, a shuttle, or a taxi, and you can even hire a car. However, those options simply don’t match up to a direct transfer from Hughes. When you choose Hughes, you can step from the arrivals hall at Brisbane Airport into your waiting limousine. From there, the trip to Hamilton is only short, at around 13 minutes or so. In contrast, taxis come with long queues and variable prices, while buses and shuttles take much longer, with frequent stops and sometimes infrequent services. Hire cars may be direct, but you need to collect them from the provider on your arrival, and you’re left with the added cost of fuel and the burden of parking. So take the easy option, with Hughes’ affordable transfer services.

Travel times on and off peak

Because Hamilton is so close to Brisbane Airport, the trip only takes thirteen minutes on average. However, when the traffic is heavy, or when there are roadworks disrupting the motorways, it can take a little longer – sometimes up to 16 minutes or so. On the other hand, when there’s not much traffic around it only takes about 10 minutes to get from Brisbane Airport to Hamilton. There are a few routes available, but the easiest route to take is the recently redeveloped Kingsford Smith Drive, which hugs the Brisbane River through Hamilton and takes you within view of the CBD and its surrounding attractions.

Brisbane Airport guide

Brisbane Airport is internationally recognised for the quality of its layout, and its available services. It has two terminals – one domestic and one international – and it hosts a whole range of different carriers. For those travelling domestically, there are abundant kerbside spaces for both arriving and departing passengers. The same is available in the international terminal, although it is split into separate levels for arrivals and departures. Once inside the terminals, you will be greeted with a range of shopping, dining, and transit facilities. There is free Wi-Fi, designer retail outlets, lounges, and waiting areas, along with a newly developed dining precinct in the domestic terminal. For those who drive to the terminal, there are plenty of parks ranging from multi-story short and long term, to offsite long term parking.

Hamilton

Hamilton is one of Brisbane’s premier suburbs, and it hosts a mix of residential and commercial buildings. Up on Hamilton Hill you will see some of Brisbane’s oldest and most prestigious homes, with sweeping riverfront and city views. Scattered among them are cafes, parks, and walking paths, which take you through some of the area’s green spaces. Closer to the river you can see the sights of the iconic Racecourse Road, which ends at the racecourse and attracts thousands of visitors each week with its dining and entertainment attractions. Along the river you will find the ever popular eat street markets, which offer casual dining in almost every cuisine imaginable. Further down, you can find Portside, which sits beside the cruise terminal and offers casual and fine dining with river and city views. Regardless of where you want to go in and around Hamilton, we can take you there.
