Travel Times

The average travel time from Adelaide Airport to Glenelg is around 12 minutes, however, this can vary during peak and off-peak hours where it can take as quick as 10 minutes or as long as 14 minutes. These are the approximate times going both directions, including Glenelg to Adelaide Airport.

Adelaide airport pick-up and information

Adelaide Airport has only one passenger terminal for both domestic and international flights.

The airport isn’t big, but it has a lot to offer. There is free Wi-Fi access across the entire airport, multiple retail stores for adults such as Seed or Ripcurl, as well as  entertainment shops for kids like Lego Kaboom.

If you are feeling peckish on arrival, there are a variety of food options ranging from fast food such as Subway, to fancier meals at Precinct Adelaide Kitchen. Either way, you’re sure to find something you like.

Adelaide Airport has airline lounges for REX, Qantas, and Virgin. If your transit is longer than four to six hours, you can relax at the Atura Hotel which has a direct walkway to the check-in area.

Adelaide Airport also has various parking options, as well as quick pick-up and drop-off areas. There is the undercover multi-level Terminal Car Park which is the closest to the terminal; the outdoor Long Term Car Park which requires a 10-minute walk or five-minute bus drive to the terminal, and pickup and drop off zones located at the entry point of the airport on Sir Richard Williams Avenue.

 

Glenelg pick-up & information

Glenelg is a beachside suburb of Adelaide, located on the shore of Holdfast Bay; it is also one of the oldest European settlements after having its discovery in 1836. Now it has grown to a population of approximately 35,000.

It is a popular tourist destination due to its history, beaches, and restaurants. While Glenelg has a lot of history, some of its most famous sights are the Pioneer Memorial, Glenelg Town Hall, and Partridge House.

There are a wide range of activities in Glenelg such as historical walks and trails along the beach, the town itself, the museums which offer even more information about the town’s history, and bus tours. There’s entertainment for families and tourists of all ages, such as the children’s amusement complex, the GU Film house, and of course, plenty of shopping.
