Distances and travel times
The trip from Perth Airport to Fremantle is about 29km in distance, which roughly equates to a journey duration of 33 minutes. However, that travel time (like all) depends on the traffic conditions, and it can be a little unpredictable at different times of day. Usually, during peak hour, you can expect some congestion and related delays of fifteen minutes or so. That brings you average peak hour travel time to about 45 minutes, and the same time could be expected if there are other delays related to roadworks, for example. If you’re looking for less time on the road and more time exploring, then we would suggest booking flights that arrive late or early, to dodge the peak periods. If you do, you could be looking at a journey of just 25 minutes or so.
Airport Navigation
When you arrive at Perth Airport, you’ll find yourself in one of four terminals. There’s the international terminal, and three domestic ones, which collectively service all inbound and outbound flights, whether they’re travelling from remote parts of the country, or remote parts of the world! When you arrive at your terminal, you’ll be greeted with a range of facilities including free Wi-Fi, dining, retail, and lounge options. And when you navigate your way from your gate through the arrivals hall, you’ll also be greeted by your waiting chauffeur. There are plenty of pick up and drop off zones, so we can choose a space that’s convenient for you. The same goes for your return trip – we will drop you off directly adjacent to your terminal, to minimise the distance you need to cover.
Fremantle – the destination!
Fremantle is the home of the harbour, and it services the massive Port of Perth. It’s the first port of call for a whole range of freight vessels after they complete the arduous crossing of the Indian Ocean, through some of the most remote regions of the planet. Needless to say, you won’t be the only person who’s pleased to arrive there! During WWII, Fremantle became the largest base for Allied submarines in the Southern Hemisphere, which makes it a port of great historical importance. Today, it houses more enjoyable facilities, including the University of Notre Dame. But by far its greatest drawcard is its culture; Fremantle has a variety of dining opportunities and the famous ‘Cappuccino Strip,’ which houses Western Australia’s largest collection of alfresco dining sites.
