If your RPM was not compiled with mSQL support (and does not explicitily
said so), it will be better that you compile your own.
You should carefully read the INSTALL instructions for the source
distribution PHP, so you will know how to add mSQL (or MySQL or whatever
other database you want).
Also read the PHP FAQ (www.php.net/FAQ.php3). BTW the PHP manual also has
the installation/compilation instructions.
Be aware that PHP can also be compiled as an Apache module, which will give
you access to more functions and better performance. Again, you will be
better off getting the source distribution of Apache to accomplish this.

Happy reading and compiling.
