If you do not mind using PHP, there is something called FreeMed at
http://www.freeemd.org/, and also there is an article at
http://www.phpbuilder.com/ on web calendars. Check the PHP projects and
links at http://www.php.net/ and the source repositories listed at
http://www.phpbuilder.com/sample/
I played with Selena Sol's calendar (Perl) some time ago, and it is simple
and does some of what you want.
