Message-Id: <199711091833.NAA19892@linet06.li.net> Date: Sun, 09 Nov 1997 13:37:51 From: Jethro Wright III <jetman@li.net>Folks: Hi. I'm new to the mail list and mSQL, but I've been
to the usual places (Hughes, mSQL-PC, Nerosworld, the FAQ, etc.) and
can't find what I'm looking for. Perhaps someone can help.
1) Does anyone know of what's happening w/ mSQL 2.03 and
Win32 ? The mSQL-PC web site is very unclear about that. They say
there's a port of mSQL 2.01 using Cygnus-Win32, but that's it. Does
anyone know if Win32 is part of the standard development tree (I can
grok the heavy d/l of the Cygnus Win-32 compiler, but if I don't want to
if someone's already got mSQL 2.0X recompiled and posted someplace.)
2) I've been hacking around w/ the 1.16c port for Win32 and have
had some success w/ VB 4.0. The VB sample I pulled down from Bond's
FTP site got me started but I've had a minor hangup w/ a CGI I wrote
that does a simple SQL INSERT. I can inspect the INSERT stmt and it
looks perfect. In fact, the stmt in question actually completes and
new records are added to the data base. However, the Query API call
always fails for this one CGI. The person who did the VB port didn't
include a VB function definition for the msqlGetErrMsg API, so I added
it, but I never recv an error message or even a GPF in case I incorrectly
coded the VB function def. Perhaps someone has worked something out
in this area. I would include a copy of the VB function def I wrote
for the GetErrMsg fn, but it's at work and I'm sending this from home.
3) Is anyone doing anything w/ Python and mSQL under Win32 ? I've
decided to do all of my production CGIs using Python and I'm wondering
what it'll take to get that going.
TIA....Jet
