Subject: mSQL Performance

Hi there,
I have a table with with > 40000 entries and I am running a substring
search on an indexed column.
The response time is about 50 seconds on a 32 MB Ram, 100 MHz Linux 2.0
machine.
Anybody has same (slow) figures or some performance hints ?
