I am now using msql with a database size of 4000 entries , and find the cgi search speed is reasonablly fast. How large database can msql handle with reasonable search speed (cgi, perl-API)?

Our machine is solaris 2.5, 64 MB ram. Each entry will have around 10 char fields, for names, despriptions etc. From hans@ljungbergs.se Mon Nov 3 02:31:34 1997 Received: from mocha.bunyip.com (mocha.Bunyip.Com [192.197.208.1]) by services.bunyip.com (8.8.5/8.8.5) with ESMTP id CAA21108 for <msql-list@services.bunyip.com>; Mon, 3 Nov 1997 02:31:29 -0500 (EST) Received: from www.ljungbergs.se (ftp.foretagsfakta.se [195.100.70.193]) by mocha.bunyip.com (8.8.5/8.8.5) with SMTP id CAA26282 for <msql-list@Bunyip.Com>; Mon, 3 Nov 1997 02:31:17 -0500 (EST) Received: from hans.ljungbergs.se by www.ljungbergs.se via SMTP (940816.SGI.8.6.9/940406.SGI.AUTO) id IAA05739; Mon, 3 Nov 1997 08:30:07 +0100 Message-Id: <3.0.3.32.19971103083006.00c04d64@mailhost.ljungbergs.se> X-Sender: hans@mailhost.ljungbergs.se X-Mailer: QUALCOMM Windows Eudora Pro Version 3.0.3 (32) Date: Mon, 03 Nov 1997 08:30:06 +0100 To: jwyatt@sandman.cosc.brocku.ca From: Hans Christiansen <hans@ljungbergs.se> Subject: Re: How to pass command line args to lite script Cc: msql-list@Bunyip.Com In-Reply-To: <Pine.SGI.3.96.971031100455.11121D-100000@sandman.cosc.broc ku.ca> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Lite seems to set up a the array $argv[] when starting. This contains the command line! I assume that the variable $argc is set to the number of entries in the $argv array.

In the time honoured mailing list tradition, "me too".

My experience was less than satisfactory, the windows database editor that goes with the Gorta ODBC system worked once. Ever since then it kills MSQL with a sig 11. MSQUERY simply GPed the odbc drivers. The 32 bit version of the odbc drivers was severely lacking in install information and I never managed to get it to even begin to work even after an afternoon's registry hacking.

hey ho.

Hi folks,

after I have a part of my Website email-traffic automated -- at least the first reply -- I am now wondering whether something like a majordomo or listverver function written in hts is already available -- before I start inventing the wheel once again I better ask here. The script should be able to i.e. send out an message stored in a *.dat file to all folks saved in an email-notification file, another *.dat. Currently about 450 email addresses are in this file. In fact the main purpose is sending out one message to all 450 email addresses.

If something like this is already available, I would greatly appreciate any hints on this.

So long

Thomas Hintze
