Date: Wed, 30 Apr 1997 02:29:07 +0200 (MET) From: Szakdoli Adatbazis <szakdoli@augusta.inf.elte.hu> Subject: [mSQL] "Can't connect to local MSQL server." Message-ID: <Pine.GSO.3.95.970430020952.7400C-100000@augusta>Some days ago I asked about a "Can't connect to local MSQL server" error.
The problem has been worked out already, but I write it down again,
because I'm curious about it.
I work on a Sun server, under Solaris 2.4, there is an mSQL 1.0.13 server,
it is running as root. I make queries through Wold Wide Web with a cgi
program using the C API.
Sometimes the server went blank by my program. The msqld ran fine, but it
answered the "Can't connect..." error every ask, include relshow
command too. It must be restart by root...
I installed another server, its version is 1.0.16, and running under my
username. It answers for the same program correctly. And after two days I
return to the other server, and now it's fine.
What was the problem with the first server or my program? What can
disturb the server in my program, that it wasn't be able to connect
anything?
As I said, it works now, but I don't know why? I can't be sure if it will
work safety afterwards. If you have any idea about it, please write me!
Thanks in advance:
Sandor Megyaszai
