Subject: [mSQL] w3-auth: works with NCSA httpd?
Message-Id: <Pine.SGI.3.95.970414011143.7807A-100000@cafe.sdc.uwo.ca>

Hi,

All I've seen so far is that w3-auth will *eventually* work with Apache
and CERN servers.
Given that by anyone's estimates the majority of servers around the globe
are NCSA httpd or Netscape, I wonder whether w3-auth will work with these
too? If not, any other way to do authentication for "thousands" of people
accessing a database?

The reason I'm asking is that from I hear (I haven't
really tried it on such a large number yet) .htaccess and a *reallly
large* password file don't work because they have limitations as to the
number of people in the file.

Thanks.

P.S.: Apache is based on the NCSA httpd server, isn't it? Does it mean
it'll work then?
