BTW I forgot to say... an easy workaround for the problem (and better than
using rlike which is much slower) is to never fill any fields you intend to
use with a LIKE/CLIKE search... ie for your 'name' field, make it 31
characters instead of 30, but still limit user input to 30. That's what
we've done to stop the problem in beta 5 until the patch is applied.
