From: elliston <elliston@sound.net> Message-Id: <199704020231.UAA20929@sound.net> Subject: [mSQL] Checking to see if msql is running from a cgi Date: Tue, 1 Apr 1997 20:31:50 -0600 (CST)I am running msql2.0B5 and PHP2b10 on my personal account on
my ISP. My ISP does not permit cronjobs. I need a way to
check to see that msql is running before attempting to load
pages which access the database. I am able to determine if
the database is running but I cannot seem to restart msql.
PHP is running on my account with the user suid bit set.
msql root user is me
I get the following error when I try to start msql from
the cgi script which detects that it is not running.
Mini SQL Version 2.0 Beta 5 Pre2

Loading configuration from '/home/...../elliston/Hughes/msql.con
f'.
Server process reconfigured to accept 214 connections.
Server running as user 'elliston'.
Error! '/home/...../elliston/Hughes/msqldb' is not owned by 'ellis
ton'
I have tried executing msql2d directly, from run_daemon, from a C
program (whose suid bit is set) and I get the same results.
Any ideas? Or suggestions.
Thanks,
Jack Elliston
