i've been using the DBI/DBD modules for a little while with much success,
and now im trying to get my feet wet with C++ and msql.
so i grabbed zmsql-2.1, and it compiles fine, but i just cant seem to
get zmsqltest to connect to msql. i know msql is alright because
all my dbi stuff works fine.
i'm using msql 1.0.16 on linux 2.0.29.
i followed the instructions to the T in the "readme", but this is
what i end up with:
[[root@parasite db]# ./zmsqltest
Connect: Connection refused
Connect: Connection refused
Connect: Connection refused
Databases on localhost
****************
Tables in "test" on localhost
****************
Connect: Connection refused
Fields in 'test'
******************
mSQL Error: MSQL server has gone awayError opening sql
[[root@parasite db]#
my msql.acl file:
database=test
read=*
write=root,web
access=local
i tried emailing the author, to no avail. seems he no longer has this account.

so the short of it ... has anyone had/fixed a similar problem?
thanks a lot,
josh
