Date: Mon, 6 Jan 1997 07:19:49 +0000 ( ) From: mSQL Reader <msql@crescent.dartmouth.edu> Subject: [mSQL] w3-auth Message-Id: <Pine.LNX.3.91.970106071149.11946B-100000@crescent.dartmouth.edu>Could anybody give me a hand with setting up w3-auth. After I have run
the setup_www and added in a super user called cenk with passwd cenk, I
goto url http://.../cgi-bin/w3-auth, it pops up a passwd dialog. I put it
what I had just entered and it says authorization failed...
Currently I am using the .htaccess .htpasswd etc to limit access to my
"admin" menus. But the presence of a w3-msql which reads files in the web
directory without looking at this authorization setup simply eliminates
every measure of security setup this way...
Questions:
1- Documentation or examples for w3-auth...
2- Is it possible to make w3-msql more aware of the password setup etc.
through the .htaccess or whatever files you are using?
Thank you in advance for your help,
Regards,
Cenk Ergan
