Subject: [mSQL] Index file size

I am hoping someone can enlighten me as to the size of the IDX files
I have an index created on a CHAR(40) field which gives me an index
file which jumps from 1K without any records in the table to about
1.1 Meg when just one record is added. I have added some additional
records (only 6) without any increase in the index file size.

As this question is born out of ignorance, Any explanation would be
greatly appreciated.
