I bet the problem lies in the lame implementation of the
backslashify_special_chars() function. A possible solution
to your problem is to preprocess your datafile in order to
put backslashes in front of special characters, then
comment out the faulty function in msql-import, recompile
msql-import and use it like that.
Someday I'll get my hands on a Solaris box and I'll fix the
bug once and for all, but I don't have time for that right now.
Cheers,
- Pascal
