It's not a problem. You do not need to use ranlib for libraries on
SCO Unix. An x.out archive is a Xenix format archive. On my system
it's only a warning (Release 3.2v4.2). Here is the message text.

ranlib: libregexp.a: warning - COFF archives do not require ranlib,
skipping...
